I am an experienced PC, Mac, and Amiga programmer with fluency in C, 680×0 and 6510 assembly, Pascal, Basic, PostScript, and assorted other database and programming languages. I have 6 1/2 years of on-the-job experience, contributing to a wide variety of projects, from arcade games ("Klondike Clyde", C-64 and Apple IIe, 6510/6502 asm, circa 1984), to database & real-time applications ("Trilogy MarketFAX", C, 680×0 asm, and 4th Dimension on the Macintosh, circa 1990). I work 60 to 70 hours per week, and generate a generous amount of code daily, and I've only "burned out" once in these 6 1/2 years. I am prolific, and accurate. Today, for instance, I wrote a sampler, which captures 8-bit samples at 28 kHz from my parallel port. Tomorrow, I'll convert it from its current method of busy-loop interrupt polling, to a direct-to-disk signaldriven version. I love to work, and you'll find me coding every day, whether someone is paying me or not. Which brings me to the point of this message: I'm looking for a programming position, coding in C (my "native tongue") or any of the other languages I've mentioned. I would be interested in permanent or temporary, full or part-time, my place or yours. I would welcome, most of all, a tele-commute, where I'd work at home on your project (unshaven, surrounded by my tech ref library, smoking as much as I wanted, dressed in my sloppies, etc.), but I have been known to wear a tie, and would jump at the chance to join a team of skilled professionals on a SOTA project. Though I'd prefer to stay in the Chicago area, I am willing to relocate for the right position. I am especially suited (and available) for "crash" coding… If you need someone to dive in, work double-time and produce right away, I'm your man. I have a resume, code examples, and references, and am available immediately. I can be reached by EMail on CompuServe as [76616,2763], on PeopleLink as "Jim Davis", or by voice at (312) 583-0712. Hope to hear from you.
