Thanks, Bob. I knew about the DiskChange, and I've heard a bit about the
RigidDiskBlock, but its purpose had passed me by. That makes lots of
sense, and I had wondered what had changed that made the difference.
The thing I keep wondering about is that I read a great deal about the FFS
not really being any faster of floppies (under 1.3) than the OFS was, but
that once there was rom support for it, it would give added speed. I have
searched old DevCon notes, old AmigaMail articles, etc., and can find
absolutely nothing about it there, so I'm sure it was on Usenet. I really
need to know why right now (for an article I'm writing, and which has to be
finished this week) and I cannot locate it. I've done LOTS of searching!
