I did get a few answers and a few scratches on the head. I called CATS today. In case you folks were not aware, Kathy Godfrey is the contact person at Commodore for bugs in AmigaVision. John Campbell is her immediate supervisor, (in charge of the AmigaVision 2.0 project with IMSATT) though not part of the original beta test team for AmigaVision, I did give Commodore several bug reports (large long letters) about AmigaVision 1.31. Have I mentioned I love this software? Kathy said she thought the bug with the variables dissapearing from the read/write icon had been squashed in 1.53g (the current release), and that she had not heard of a problem with sudden aborts of AmigaVision flows. I am trying to document it a bit better and see if I can cause it to happen. According to Kathy, Commodore is working closely with several developers that are busy creating courseware with AmigaVision. Support of these 'commercial developers' seem to have priority. Perhaps they are working on CDTV applications? Kathy in the past mentioned that AmigaVision is proving to be a exellent vehicle for development with CDTV. Further Commodore has now instituted a 900 number for *support* of the AmigaVision product (hey guys.. I told you this months ago, no one wanted to believe me :-)) I will get the number if any one is interested, it is $5 an hour. Rumor continues to have it that this 900 number plan will spread. On other fronts, this Friday the regional sales reps are meeting with "selected" dealers to talk about "future directions" of the Amiga line of computers. More on this as it develops. This meeting is in Reston Virginia. On the Quarterback Tools problem, the makers have released two bug fixes since the initial release. The current release is 1.2. There *is* a problem with earlier version in disk corruption! I saw that list, I *may* have it around somewhere. I shall have a look Betty. Personally, I have not seen much use for the FFS on floppies, it gives [ MORE ]

Mark, In re the 900 number: If it's only $5/HOUR..that's quite reasonable…I wouldn't object to that at all. Don

I don't really object to it either to be honest. I think it will keep the flow of calls who are calling to find out how to put a picture on the screen to a minimum as that is clearly documented in the manual. -mark=

$5/hour? That's a pretty good price for support! Steve

Did you say $5 per HOUR for the 900 number? Most of them charge by the minute – and at $5 a MINUTE, boy, would that ever be costly!! $5 an hour is cheaper than long distance calls, though. Betty
