I am in the process of buying a Seagate ST-296N (80 meg, 28ms, 5 1/4 HH
Drive) and a IVS Controller (for A2000).. Is this generaly a good
configuration?? I am not a heavy graphics user, but basicly a hobbiest
interested in a lot of storage and *REASONABLE* price/proformance ratio…
This setup costs about $470.00 and fits real well within my budget!

I use a Microbotics controller with the 296N so I can't comment on your
exact combo. But the drive works great for me and I wouldn't hesitate to
buy another when I need some more disk space.

alan, I've had excellent results with IVS first with the TrumpCard and now
the TrumpCardPro. Also sell SCSI drives at killer prices. I now run a
TCPro500 (on an A1000) and have a 40meg Quantum + a 335 Meg Priam 738 or
Rodime 3057S cabled to the TCPro500. Works great. IVS supports the
product well and have issued quite nice new installation software for SCSI
drives.
