Here I am again. Two things, there are no icons for JRCOMM or JREDIT, I
checked the whole window, scrolls and all. Entering DIR > DF1: NewJR DF0:
Opt A gave me a requester that says "Unable to open redirection file" so, I
tried a few other ways, but I got bad arguments. As I suspected I would. If
nothing else Bill, I do understand now what the lines mean now. I've gotten
alot out of this, maybe can't do it by myself yet, but I am getting the
idea and can understand most of what we're doing.
Have a class to go to, but will check back in with you when I get home.

Spacing is critical in a number of things on the Amiga. Entering the line
as you typed it in your message probably gave the computer a fit. <grin>
The proper line is: DIR >DF1:NewJR DF0: Opt A
DIR is obviously the directory command, the >DF1:NewJR is the redirection
telling the Amiga to put the output from the directory into a file on DF1:
called NewJR. DF0: is the device from which we want the directory, and Opt
A tells the Directory command to give a full listing of whatever it finds
on DF0:.
I was also looking at the script a little earlier today. I have no idea
what the author was doing in simply deleting the Shell and it's icon. The
savings in disk space realized by deleting the shell is trivial. If you
want to, I'll show you how to put the shell back in the JRCOMM diskette.
(not very hard at all.)
I've got no idea where the icons went. I will need to see the directory to
figure out where the script failed.

You got it! Hit it first time, when I paid attention. Okay, DF1: has the
NewJR file, fonts.lzh and no system files. DF0: has System (dir) and
System.info. Now, you want me to send you the NewJR file right? Is that
all?
We got lucky, nothing to shovel. Sure is cold tho. Saw a few accidents on
the way home tonite. People forget about the black ice. Then there are
those who think 4wd allows them to do anything. 2{?~?~?~?~ Can you see that
jibberish that comes through? All of a sudden it's there while I'm typing.
Whats it from?

Yes, I'll need the NewJR file.
The 2{?~ (or whatever) characters are how line noise affects
telecommunications. There is little you can do about it unless you want to
invest in a MNP modem. The noise is on the telephone line, not in your
Amiga.
