I would like to find process that lets me edit mesh animation in the 3ds
keyframer while seeing it composited with an animating background. I am
currently using the 'SEE BACKGROUND' option. This is very cumbersome. The
grayscale view of the background is difficult to see, and forces me to load
each image by hand. The fast preview option, in 3ds ver 4, does not allow
editing of the camera and mesh animation. The wireframe and camera and lights
need to sync to the live action backgorund, like Disney's "Roger Rabbit".
Hi Nathan, you don't have to load each image by hand. Just write an .ifl file
with your sequential images and they will display in sequence as a background.
We are doing that for the film I am working on. Yeah, the gray scale sucks.
What I have done is process the images in Debabelizer first so that only the
relevant information (high contrast) is there and even added reference lines to
match the meshes.
I am having a lot of fun 😉
