Allen, he usually tries to make it over here. However, Commodore permits
him time to work on that one forum, and whatever he does over here is done
on his own time – and he has to pay long distance phone rates at that. So,
it is better if you post questions that someone from Commodore needs to
answer over there in the forum set up just for that. Dave is extremely
helpful, going far beyond what he has to do in order to help people get
problems solved, and to get information from Commodore. He cannot announce
things they haven't announced, or give us information that they have not
released, but he sure is good help on getting problems solved.
Consider this: There are four Amiga forums, and three Commodore 8-bit
forums. Think of the difference in time involved in reading all seven of
those PLUS the one he is assigned to manage. Also consider that he is
allowed only a small part of his work day for telecomm support, spending
most of it on telephone support. Why should we make it any harder on him
than we have to?
Betty,
I certainly have no desire to make Dave work any harder than he already
does. It just seems to me that CBM's interests would (should?) be switching
from the 8-bit fora to the 16-bit fora.

Allen
Allen,
I don't think you understand the names of the forums. There are three
8-bit forums: CBMART, CBMCOM, and CBMPRG. There are four AMiga Forums:
AmigaVendor, AmigaArts, AmigaTech, and AmigaUser. Those fora are run
entirely by people who have no connection with Commdore other than the use
of their computers. AND there is CBMSER (Commodore Business Machines
Service) which is separate from both the 8-bit and the Amiga forums, and
which is operated by Commodore itself. Dave Minnich runs this Customer
Service forum for Commodore, and they allow him only a limited amount of
his time every day for doing it. He also does the online support on QLink,
and maybe on some other networks, for all I know. The time Commodore
allots to him for this does not always give him time to visit the forums
for which he is not assigned responsibility. It is not lack of interest –
it is just a matter of how much he can squeeze in.

Ahh.. OK, that makes more sense. He is in charge of CBMSER. OK, I thought
that he was doing the 8-bit forums as well. Thanks for your help.

Allen
