#Color Splitter

I have had fair results with the color splitter but most times
disappointed. Is there a way to make it work better? Is there an upgrade?

Brooks,
Excuse me for butting in here. I just bought the color splitter, because I
just bought a Sony F77 camcorder (great pause/freeze frame!). I get
results, with the Hue and Sat knobs in the middle settings, equivalent to a
Sharp flatbed scanner. Much better than filter wheels and the BW Panasonic
security camera I've been using. Although I do understand that ultimately
the BW has a higher resolution.
Now, this is not for 24-bit, color separated printing at 2470 dpi (lino)
output. Just for fun things and our users group newsletter, you know
-personal publishing. Bring the Hi-res, interlaced overscan RGB into TAD,
convert to gray, up the gamma to about 70, save as 8-bit, import to
ProPage, print to HPLJIIp at 60-75 lpi, Voila!
What kind of problems are you experiencing?
Jan
Brooks,
I need a little more information about your setup before I can give you
more help. What kind of results are you getting and what is disappointing
to you..
You might want to check the LIBS on here and download some of the sample
pics done witht the color splitter and see how yours compare.
As far as I know there has been no upgrade, but I will check it out and let
you know.
