HELP!
I have an Atari ST in which I d/l files for my amiga, (no hd on my
500. (run out of space too fast!) I unlzh them there, have a seriel to
seriel connection made, send the file from the ATARI to the amiga ZModem
and rename the files with the real names (i.e. master.info) and I still get
problems loading in the shell. And when the .info icon thingofajig is
noticed by Workbench, it gives me an error #121 or #120. I have been
wondering if the amiga programs carry headers like the macintoshes. I have
my Atari suped up with emulators (mac,ibm,c=64) and I hope if on at least
one of the emulators can get a file working. I also tried to send programs
from my Wyse 386 to the 500 but still the same results. I often go to
computer shows and buy software I know that is on compuserve since the
amiga doesn't seem to like me. It is the 3rd one I have had in two months
and I know the federal express man who has to pick up my Amiga and drop the
new one off! (The Service contract with amiga is for one year and they'll
replace it if it messess up) At this rate I'll have gone through 18 Amigas
this year. Does anyone have this problem too? I know this is not a simple
problem it is with the Mother board's main memory. P.S. anyone know if
there is the Workbench built into a chip I could pop in for cheap? (Hate to
have to buy a $500 hd or another floppy).

Tom,
The reason for the errors can be found by using the 'fault' command in
the CLI (you SHOULD use SHELL, you'll like it better).
4.work:Taarna2/sigs> fault 120 121
Fault 120: argument line invalid or too long
Fault 121: file is not executable
I'm clueless as to what you're trying to do, but you SHOULD note that MOST
of the files here are executable from teh shell. I'm puzzled as to why you
would have to rename the files. When lharc is run on the Amiga side, it
always puts the correct names on the files. Maybe you should consider
uncompressing the files on the Amiga side.

Have you ever tried putting your modem on the Amiga and just downloading to
it? Or have you tried sending the archived files to the Amiga and
unpacking them on the Amiga itself? I would suggest that you try these.
