My A-500 internal clock (located on my BaseBoard mem exp) is jammed! It still keeps perfect time, but it won't let me reset it! Oh, it'll keep the time once I go into prefs, but once I reboot, it resets to the time it had just prior to my change (meaning it doesn't go back to the old default time – it just picks up where it left off). What can I do?! <Dave>

David, There's two clocks in the Amiga. There's the battery backed hardware clock, and the software clock. The software clock gets set on bootup from the hardware clock. The fix is to do a SETCLOCK OPT RESET , then set the software clock (from preferences) and then a SETCLOCK OPT SAVE to save the software clock's time back into the hardware clock. Don

David, I experienced that problem when I used any of several Psygnosis Games. The first time I removed the Battery from the BaseBoard. The next time I'd found out about the SetClock OPT Reset command. It works, so use it. As good as their games are, avoid the earlier Psygnosis games to avoid the problem. Otherwise, use the Setclock opt reset command. Rodger – via Whap!
