This a response to both message 39874 and 39875. I went back in and looked for messages 39649 and 39650 and couldn't find either message. 39874 and 39875 refer to 39649 and 39650 respectively. Since I couldn't find either of the two messages on the forum I don't know exactly what the content of these messages was. However, I suspect that they were a response to several messages that you posted earlier. Apparently either you or one of the sysops went in and deleted 39649 and 39650. I suspect that these two messages were ones that I sent you and I also suspect that they looked something like this: Barry Massoni 73260,1413 PageStream Follies S6 RE;39251 Excuse me, please don't get upset at this question, but are you 14 years old or just 13? :^) – via Whap! Barry Massoni 73260,1413 PageStream Follies S6 RE;39252 Excuse me, please don't be upset at this question, but are you 11 years old or just 10? :^) Now, I suspect that 39649 was the first message above and that 39650 was the second message. You refer (in both message 39875 and 39874) to my ability to use Whap! and to the fact that there seems to be an echo. As I said earlier, neither of my two messages is on the forum anymore, but if you refer to the text above and read the two messages that were sent very carefully, you will see that the text of these two messages was not the same. If you want to complain about my ability to use Whap! then that is your perogative. But since these two messages obviously weren't the same, you may want to jump back a few grades, say to second or third, and ask the teacher to instruct you in the art of reading since you obviously don't know how to read. :^) JH – via Whap!

Actually, I did notice that the messages weren't the same. What surprised me was that you'd send two that were so very nearly the same. As if you were thinking, "oh, no, it would have been _so much_ better if I'd used 11 and 10 instead of 14 and 13"-oh what the hell, I'll send 'em both (if you didn't know how to not send a message or delete one already sent.) Had I known that you sent both messages intentionally (it really didn't seem likely) I would NOT have questioned your ability to use Whap!. I would have complimented you on your ability to even use a computer at the age of 3 😉 Barry

Touche, huh? My whole reason for sending both messages was to expound on the fact that you were continuing to cut down an excellent piece of software in a way that a child might do. It was obvious that you neither consulted with the Soft-Logik support person here nor that you hadn't called their support hotline without first slamming the program, hence the reference to you acting like a child. For future reference, I do happen to know how to delete messages sent to or by me in the forum. :^) JH Special note to the Sysop who has been obviously removing these messages from public viewing: I am extremely disappointed that you would do this, as the actions of Mr. Massoni needed to be pointed out to the public as those of a deranged lunatic. :^) – via Whap!

Jim: I also took great offense at Barry Massoni's remarks, and I told him so. The SysOps didn't touch the exchange I had with Barry (and I flat out called him a 'jerk' for his comments and attitude and for sending a flame before asking for help… and he responded, and it as all public. I agree with your assesment of his demeanor. (of course, he's probably a great guy, a philanthropist, generous to a fault, compassionate, et al, hoever, with regard to this thread, IMHO, he was completely off base… No company with a record of support and committment to the Amiga, like SL, should ever have to put up with that kind of garbage, ESPECIALLY a company that devotes its time and money to online support. As far as I know, no messages were deleted by sysops. Messages scroll off the message base in this forum quite quickly, so they probably just scrolled off or you missed seeing the messages. Seems as though there's no need to carry on with this thread anyway, at least not in the message base (maybe e-mail would be better?). It scrolls fast enough without having people calling each other names. 🙂 Steve

Steve, the point is that I didn't call him names. The three messages I am referring to were very short and to the point. Two were from me to him and the third was from him to me. They were all three removed within a day after being posted. He could have deleted them, but I suspect that he didn't. Someone (probably one of the Sysops) had to have flagged these messages for immediate removal after they were read by the recipient. The point of the messages was to get across how the guy was acting like a child in this thread. Maybe you didn't remove them from public view, but someone did! – via Whap!

Jim, I can guarantee you that I didn't remove the messages and I would *VERY* seriously doubt that any of the other sysops did either. And one more point…we can not "flag the message for immediate removal after they are read by the receipient". That ability doesn't exist. But even more to the point…if there's a problem with a messages content, they don't get deleted…they get moved into the sysop's area, but are still readable by both the person who left it, and the person to whom it was addressed. So I would very strongly suspect that the receipient removed the messages if they've been removed. Don

Don, OK maybe the guy did remove it. But let me ask you a quick question. You say that if there is a problem with a message it is removed to the sysop area where only the sender and recipient can read it. Isn't this the same thing as what I was talking about. In other words, after I had read one of the messages the first time, when I went back in to respond to that message the one that I had read had disappeared. If a message that had been left to me by someone had been moved to the sysop area, and I read it, thus flagging it with an (X) for my account, after I read it the first time, will I be able to read it again, or will it have disappeared from my view since it is in the sysop area? Jim, if the message was addressed to you, you could still read it by calling for it by number. Betty

Thanks Betty, but I guess its really not worth it trying to figure out what happened. – via Whap!
