Yes, Rel 2 is shipping now and is available from your local Autodesk CDK dealer. We are one of these dealers as well as a CDK developer. You should contact the closest CDK dealer to your location first. The name of this dealer can be obtained from Autodesk's 800 line for dealer referrals, (sysop the number if it is handy?) If you still need any help, please feel free to contact us. Angela Pate MicronGreen (904) 376-1529

Angela, Is there a technical description on the release 2 on CIS available or if not have you a file you can send me. I'm looking for something like the 'Cyberspace Developer Kit Concepts & Components for CDK Release 1' was, which can be downloaded, but did not find something on release 2. Thanks; Beat Walter

However, if you would like to discuss it verbally, give me a call at (904) 376-1529 and I will try to answer your questions if I can. Perhaps Autodesk could provide one for all to learn more about CDK Rel 2? How about it Kevin Y.? I wish I could be of more help here. Angela

Angela, we have cdk r2 on order, and in anticipation of its arrival i have purchased the microsoft visual c++ development system on cd rom. this is apparently for windoze nt programming, but also includes the windows programming (vc++ 1.5); however, the manuals for version 1.5 are not included and can only be obtained by sending microsoft $100.00 and waiting until the feel like sending the manuals (if they feel like it). 1. Will these manuals be necessary for programming with the cdk r2? 2. do i need the full vc++ development system or should i have purchased the standard edition of vc++? 3. is there an alternative book which could be purchased from a local bookstore which would suffice? i have not had any previous experience with the cdk; however, i have had extensive experience with acad, 3d studio and vr programming with Superscapes VRT. Sorry for the delay in responding to you, but it looks like Kevin Y. has answered all your questions already! We are backed up as always in trying to get the next version out and I haven't gotten to the forum except about once a week lately. Isn't that great! A real Autodesk person answering CDK questions. And promptly no less. Thanks Kevin! As for your comments that VR activity is scarce in your area, please feel free to call us if you need help or general empathy in your endeavors. We are in North Florida at (904) 376-1529. We are a developer, dealer (CDK,MM and AutoCAD) and generally addicted to the whole real-time thing. If we can help you, let us know. Glad your answers came before I could get there……. Angela
