PAL on A3000?

I've tried to run some PAL demos on my A3000 without any luck. Actually I never even got to the point of starting the PAL programs ssince I can't get the A3000 to go into PAL mode using the screen program in preferences. Why? My computer is an A3000 with 2megs of chip ram and 8megs of fast ram. When I try to go into PAL mode the screen goes haywire on both the RGB and de-interlaced ports. What can I be doing wrong. I though all you had to do on the A3000 to go to PAL was change the preference setting. I have both the NTSC and PAL monitor icons in the monitor draw and I'm running WB2.04. Thanks. John

What is happening here is that Pal implies a different screen refresh rate. I remember a PAL program that would put the machine into a pseudo Pal mode. I don't know if it is in the Libs here (I am still learning my way around it now) so I can't say for certain. John A. Toebes, VIII – via Whap!

John, What kind of monitor are you using? Some monitors won't handle PAL. When I had an Imtec (Samsung) multisync on my 3000 it did what you described. After I blew up that monitor (flames, arcs, smoke, lotsa fun) I bought a 1950 and it goes into PAL with no problems. -sja
