#486/Summagraphics Probl.
2 messages in this thread
Thank you for your suggestion David, but I would like to find a better
answer than just upgrading to ACAD 10 386, if available. Larry Beck has
left a message suggesting to upgrade to R10 c7, as the R10 c2 has a number
of bugs.
What do you think?. What if we configure the Summagraphics with the ADI
drivers instead of the standard ACAD driver?.
Have you herad of this bug before?. Do you know if it only happens with
Summagraphics digitizers or with any digitizer tablet?.
I did not know that there was a revision c7 of ACAD R10, I thought the
R10c2 was the last one before R11.
Thank you for your help
Manuel
AutoCAD R10 c7 was the last Release 10 for the 286. It is a free update
from R10 c2. Running it on a '486 however is just being silly.
AutoCAD R10 c10a was the last version of Release 10 for the 386, and it is
still available from Autodesk, and will remain so until we get R11 on all
supported platforms. It runs about twice as fast as R10 c7 on the same
hardware.
Release 11 contains a utility to strip R11 DXF files down to R10
compatibility.
I have heard of problems with the Summagraphics tablets on fast machines,
but they can be worked around or resolved by Summagraphics and the people
on this forum.
