David, Your list of available shareware in the November issue was great – and I'd really like to download some of those files to try them. (Specifically LaunchCAD, SlideManager,CheckLISP,CADet, and Ally) The CI$ search routines in the library SUCK. You didn't give us any file names or sections to search, so I went looking for them. As I referred to earlier, CI$ wants a file name, an upload ID number, or key words. After several minutes of fruitless searching (which is in CompuBuck$ greatest interest – searching online continuously at 12 bucks an hour) and great frustration with CIM and CI$, I decided to give up and ask if you, or Intorcio, or ANYBODY who can shed some light on where these files live. Thanks for your help. J.R. (is anybody in Columbus paying attention – you crooks!) Manning

J.R. Ain't the trials and tribulations of CIM wonderful. Ahhh……. the agonies we endure just to get windows……..<grin>. The files you are looking for are as follows……… LCAD36.EXE (version 3.6) Library 8 [Applications] LAUNCH.EXE (version 3.7) Library 9 [New Uploads] SLIDEM.EXE Library 10 [Utilities] CHKLSP.ZIP Library 2 [AutoLisp/ADS] CADET3.ZIP Library 8 [Applications] ALLY13.ZIP Library 2 [AutoLisp/ADS] CIM version 2.0 has just been released and is available on the CIMSUPPORT forum. This version will work successfully for the cross library file searching that has been added to all the forums on CIS. Just remember that CIM was written by CIS as an online, interactive program. READ THE PREVIOUS LINE WITH CARE. Ohhhhh…….Version 2.0 is supposed to read the library numbers too. I hopw so, it's a real pain to have to add the library name all the time. It's a pain trying to remember just what they're called. If this is true, we'll find out tomorrow. That's when us guys are supposed to be able to DL the program to find out how to run it. (now if they just had some docs we could download…….<grin>.)
