Are you going to honor the Premium Technical Assistance time purchased
from Precision ?

Our intention is to make the transition from technical support at Precision
to technical support at Oxxi as seamless as possible for users. This
includes honoring all extended service plans listed in the registration
base. It may take a little time to get everything set up here, but I
believe you will find in the long run, there will be little difference
between tech support from the Texas location and tech support from Long
Beach.
For tech support in Europe, of course, there is no effective difference at
all yet — users should call the Precision office in London, UK, for
technical support from Europe.
European vs. American Product
We have had a number of questions about support and registration for the
product from Europe being supported in the US. Users with questions about
the European Precision products are encouraged to call the Long Beach
office at (310) 427-1227 or the European office in London for
clarification.

Patricia,
What is support going to be like for the European versions of the product?
I'm curious because the current version of SB4 Amiga is virtually useless
in Germany (at least in German) because of a bug which has yet to be fixed.
The bug being that lower-case u-umlaut is automatically transformed and
stored as upper-case u-umlaut wherever it occurs in the data. This results
in capital letters showing up in the middle of peoples names, street
addresses etc. which is totally uunacceptable for a commercial product. Can
some improvement be expected in this direction any time soon?
Ciao, Neil

You don't understand his problem, Pat. It's a problem with the Superbase
programming that needs to be fixed. Tech support won't help him.

Darin,
The worst part is that I am (or at least was) a beta-tester for the Amiga
product as well. I reported this bug way back in April around beta 15 or so
and it seemed to have been missed in the fixumups probably in part due to
the coming buy out. All I really wanted to know is: who is fixing them now?
Ciao, Neil
Oxxi has plans for upgrading Superbase Pro4 in several ways, and one major
wish is to stomp the known bugs. We can do this best if you communicate
them directly to us at one of the two offices. I'm sure old bug reports
and beta reports are included in the material we acquired, but FINDING
them… well, that's a different subject.
We've had a lot of direct and indirect inquiries about beta-testing
arrangements and we do want to take advantage of the "installed base", but
those contacts should be re-established with Gary Bonham here at the Long
Beach office. For best results, call him after 12/15/91, as he is
currently totally involved with a major new product release. Gary is our
Director of Software R&D, and he's at the (310) number below.

Patricia,
Thanks, will do. On other notes, see my Easy-plex message.

Patricia,
I'm developing a trading and information system on SBPro4 for the Amiga for
my company.
And yes, I did and find a lot of bugs and every day I do find more.
Who shall I send all those bugs?
