#Books to CD?

Bruce, I represent a company that has recently completed development of a
full text document retrieval system optimized for CD-ROM access. The
retrieval software runs as a Windows ™ application supporting both text
and image data. At this moment we are anxious to produce an demonstration
CD that will showcase our new product and its capabilities. As such we
would like to discuss with you the possibility of indexing your data on CD
at cost. This would mean that the data preparation/development costs would
be absorbed by us in order that we might be able to satisfy both our
requirements at this time. Atleast 100 megabytes of information would be
needed in order for this to be a feasible project. Let me know if you would
be interested in pursuing this possibility with us.

Frank, In response to your question the answer is yes. The engine reports
results back to the client application in order or relevency, that is those
documents with the most occurences of hits are list first in decending
order. When a particular document is retrieved, the occureneces are
highlighted within the document and the user may autoposition to successive
occurrences based on the current relative position within the document.
Sentence, paragraph, and document level proximity searching are provided as
well as boolean operators with unlimited nesting of search expressions. I
hope this answers your question somewhat. We are quite pleased with the
Windows interface as it currently appears particularly the nested multiple
document interface (MDI) feature.

Thanks, curious as there are 2 schools of thought here (UK) over CD ROM
retrieval. One tends to the non-GUI boolean the other to the GUI relevance
engine. xD
