Thanks. When the extensions came they were actually 2.2. There was a note
to install them manually. I didn't find any instructions to do things like
copy the new MSCDEX.EXE to the appropriate file and then copy the proper
device driver there too. After scratching my head for awhile I decided that
was the thing to do so I did it. I edited my config.sys on a wing and
prayer -and made the right guesses the first time.
ZAP! Things are working fine. I bet this means the Birds of America which
used to work then stopped will work again too.
