C CD-ROMs

Can anyone tell me about the availability of C source code available on CD
ROMs. I've seen one with about 10MB of source code and was not
particularily impressed. MAW
Unfortunately, because of the nature of CD-ROM's, many publishers' approach
to making a CD-ROM of public domain and shareware stuff is to just get as
much stuff as possible and put it on the CD-ROM and leave it to the
customer to sort out what, if any of it, is current and worthwhile.
At Public (software) Library, we do not have a CD-ROM, but we do have many
disks of carefully organized, tested C routines and tools, arranged on
floppy disks by category and updated monthly.

That is very interesting. I too am looking for a library of C routines on
CD, are you guys planning to publish on the new media?

If you are asking if we will publish on CD-ROM, the answer is "probably
not". CD-ROM is great for massive amounts of stuff that infrequently
changes, but public domain and shareware changes at a frantic pace. We
update these disks every month. A CD-ROM of C routines would do well to get
updated once a year.
