1950 monitor

I have several questions about Commodores 1950 monitor (One of which I
am staring at at this very moment)
First, when did they stop making the 1950 and replace it with the 1960?
What is the difference between the two?
The only problem I have is that when I got to Productivity mode (basicly
just for amax) the screen jumps clear over to the right, and the
Horizontal Center knob ceases to have any effect on the screen at all.
I have heard of other people having this problem, but I have never
heard of any cure or fix for it. Is this a defect in the monitor, or
just a shortcoming that I will have to live with until I get a flicker
fixer?
btw…just a tip – I have found that 1448 x 566 is a great resolution
for PageStream 2.21. This is the full overscan SuperHires Pal mode.
Granted, you have flicker, and the pal mode is not quite as sharp, but
once you adjust the brightness and contrast to the best possible
settings, and put PageStream in full width view, you will be very
impressed with the sharpness of the fonts – jaggies are almost gone!
It's beatiful, and It doesn't seem to affect the performance much at all.
