Michael,
Are you upgrading again to a 386 BB? If so, I have one and it is realy
nice. 25 mgz, but it came with only 1 meg of ram. The type on the board
will let you go to 2 megs. You have to change the 1 meg out to get 8 of
the page zips on there!

I bought a 2386/20Mhz w/2 meg… the 256 X 4 chips will soon be history,
to be replaced by a bunch of 1 X 9 zips. I have it inside the A3000 right
now, but not hooked up, as it can not use Flipper and co-exist with the
A-MAX II+ card. As soon as I get my Amiga HD floppy drive, I'll make one
of my internal hard drives external, and put a 1.44 HD pc floppy in the
A3000. I'll have two external cases… one with a scsi CDROM Drive and
tape back-up (for the Amiga/Amax) and the other will house a hard drive
for the BridgeBoard (IDE) and the second scsi hard drive… the cabling
should be interesting 🙂
Consultron should be releasing AMBASSADOR sometime in the next 60 dyas or
so, which will basically do for the Bridgeboard/Amiga what CrossDos does
for the Amiga/msdos disks… that is, allow tranasparent access to all
devices on both sides of the computer. It's gonna get very confusing in
this little box.
Michael,
Those external drive cases start to stack up, don't they!
I have my monitor on top of a horizontal drive case, on top of my A2000. On
the side I have an external drive and a monitor, plus two A/B switch boxes
(modem and printer). Now I'm thinkin about another drive case, but I'm
afraid I'll get a stiff neck looking up at my monitor!

Marion:
I have my external cases under my desk, within easy reach, but out of the
way… the modem and serial switchbox, and an external 5.25 floppy are on
top of the A3000, over which is a riser shelf on which my monitor,
parallel switchbox, speakers, power center and floppy storage case
reside.
Can you say 'tower of Babel'? 🙂
Michael,
You arent kidding about the being confussing. When you do run Flipper, it
takes a couple of minutes for the program to decide what disk you have
inserted. It's a lot quicker to just set it to manual and DF0: and just
change it when needed. As for the HD drives, you should be able to order
them as a part again now. Might want to check that out. Just remember,
there is no fix for the drive to be in DF1: yet. I am running os3.0 on
this A3000 and it in no way fixes the problem. Maybe someone on BIX could
ask the C= fokes what the problem is and the solution. I asked my dealer
about the PATCH from C= that I read about on here. I even called C=.
There is no such thing so they say. There is a patch out there, but it
doesn't work on the A3000 as far as I can tell. If you find out any more
info, let me know.
