Hey Somewhere along the line I picked up an Amiga side routine called Timeserv. When the battery on my PC multifunction card hung it up I started using the Timeserv routine to pass the time from my AMiga clock to the PC. Then my Amiga side hard disk croaked, and I've been trying to reconstruct the lil bugger since I didn't have a hard disk backup (yeah, I know, you told me so). Well anyway, I can't figure out where I ever got Timeserv in the first place, and I can't find it on any of my Bridgeboard setup disks. Can you give me a clue where I can get a version of timeserv that will work with my A2000 running WB1.3? Appreciate your help. gn

Gordon, Timeserve is part of the Janus (BridgeBoard) software, it should show up as part of the BridgeBoard install. It's located in sys:pc/services Don

Don Well, yer right, it should, but it aint there. I have a gvp accelerator board in this machine, and I used GVP's routines to set up the new hard disk (driven by the GVP 3001) and I noticed they had a Bridgeboard install routine on thier disk, so I used it, and came up short on the whole pc/services drawer. Fer some reason GVP didn't set up the services drawer or the timeserv software. I'm tryin to figger out the best thing to do now. gn

Gordon, Take your original BB software disk and just copy over the proper directory onto your HD. I'm not at home, so can't look on the BB's disk. Don

Don Rootin around at the office today I found an updated BB disk which has Timeserv on it. I betcha I bin usin an old BBInstall disk. My BB days go back to early sidecar. But it's been four years since I set this A2000 up, and I lost track of some stuff. I'll letcha know how is works out. Thanks fer yer help, yup. gn

Don I found my problem and it is ME. I was using an obsolete bridgeboard setup disk. I cleared out the old bridgeboard routines and redid the setup with the new disk, and everything's OK now. Thanks for your help. I have met the enemy and it is me! gn

Gordon, If you look at the install script on the Amiga Janus software diskette, you can see what software is supposed to be copied to what location. David

David Thanks for your input. I found my problem. I was using an obsolete PC installation disk. Now I have the right stuff and everything's working the way it should. The old PC setup disk didn't have timeserv on it, and that's why it wasn't getting loaded. To be sure, the best solution to this problem would have been to have a backup of my system. gn

Gordon, Timeserv is supplied with the Janus software. It's Timeserv on the Amiga side and Atime on the PC side. With the older Janus software, you have to run both, with the newer, you just run Atime and it gets Timeserv. Marion CROSSINGS Newsletter for the Bridgeboard, etc.
