Martin, Any time-frame on an 040 version of GigaMem?

No, not yet. It will simply come when it comes. But there are more and more 040s out there, so… Martin – via Whap!

Martin, Just to let you know, I STILL haven't heard a word from InovaTronics about my DirOpus upgrade. It's only been since May… -Dave-

Wow, David. That's intolerable. Please call 1-800-875-8499 and speak with Jim O'. He will solve the problem for you. Martin – via Whap!

Martin, What's the latest version of DirOpus? I bought it when it first came out. I signed up for the auto upgrade program. I am supposed to be sent all DirOpus upgrades as soon as they come out. I was told I'd get the upgrades automatically and BEFORE they were available to the general public. However, I've never received one upgrade. I currently have V.3.40. Is this the latest version? Thanks. Dom Fontana <– Sent from New York via AutoPilot –>

Well, I have version 3.41 and have had it for some time. It has a problem correctly displaying certain fonts so I hope they are working on an upgrade for it.

Donovan, Unbelievable. They never sent me V3.41. I don't like when a company does that. Thanks for the info. Dom Fontana <– Sent from New York via AutoPilot –>

Dom, I'm still at v3.22!! I sent in for an upgrade back in May! -Dave- …also sent from New York (Buffalo) via AutoPilot!

David, That's too bad. However, I'm on the automatic upgrade list, and I still haven't heard anything. Dom Fontana <– Sent from New York via AutoPilot –>

Version 3.41 is the latest version. Maybe your Upgrade club membership and the 3.41 crossed in the mail, so to speak, but it was a "minor" update. It did fix one big bug in printing. Anyway, I will speak to someone at the office about it for you today. Martin – via Whap!

Martin, Thanks, Martin. However, I got 3.40 as soon as it came out and I then immediately joined the Upgrade Club by phone. Also, I was one of the people to report the printing bug, among other bugs. Do you think it's possible for me to get 3.41 at a nominal cost, if any, since you said it's a minor update? Thanks. Dom Fontana <– Sent from New York via AutoPilot –>

Dom, I also signed up for the autoupgrade club for both CanDo & DOpus, I faxed the forms back the day I got them but have never heard another word….. Its a great idea and hope it can be made to work. Obviously there are some teething troubles ! Andrew.

Andrew, Well hopefully, INOVAtronics will work it out. Dom Fontana <– Sent from New York via AutoPilot –>

Dom, My dealer offered me CanDo 2.0 yesterday, he actually had it in the shop. Oh well…..

What is up with companies that let stores get the new version before I even get the upgrade notice? And I have to wait a few weeks to get it too.
#46607From: Andrew BrownNov 8, 1992 11:21 AM
Quite… Andrew.
#46698From: Martin MurrayNov 9, 1992 1:35 PM
I understand what agravates you. Part of the problem is timing. As soon as we announce a new version to customers, it is like announcing it to the world. Because we normally want to run out of stock on a product weeks before the new version comes out, we usually have a vast number of the new product on backorder before it ever comes out. Therefore, when it does finally come out we have a tremendous pressure to get the orders out and to handle the customer upgrades as well. Anyway, the long and the short of the story is that we are trying to get a process in place to let us serve customer upgrades faster, which is what the Auto-Upgrade plan is all about. On its maiden voyage we have simply had a few problems, most of them related to overwhelming demand! Please bear with us as we get these things straightened out. Martin – via Whap!

Sorry, but we have had some teething problems. The only real problem has been the creation of our new office in Europe. It has thrown us into a couple of fits figuring out who is supposed to be doing what, but all of that is coming under control. Andrew, look for your CanDo upgrade right away. I have spoken with Dallas about it and it should already be underway. Martin – via Whap!

Many thanks Martin. Are you comfortably settled now in Germany ? BTW, any plans for TurboPrint to support Postscript output ? Best regards, Andrew.
#46696From: Martin MurrayNov 9, 1992 1:34 PM
Dom, you should get 3.41 for nothing if you were caught by the 3.40 print bug. Once again, I'll ask about it. You should get it ASAP. Martin – via Whap!
#46703From: Andrew BrownNov 9, 1992 3:10 PM
Excuse me nosing in…. Is this the bug that causes DOpus print to bomb out in version 3.40 ? If it is I'd better call Dallas for an upgrade or can us Europeans upgrade through Germany now ? Andrew.

Martin, Thanks for finding out about 3.41. Is there anything that I should do on my part, or will you just let me know if they'll send it to me free of charge? Thanks. Dom Fontana <– Sent from New York via AutoPilot –>
