Bones Pro is available now. It starting shipping last week.
The price is $295 until the end of January.
After that it goes up to it's normal list price of $495.

What about a muscle.axp for use with bones ?
Imagine the following:
* An outstretched arm……Bizeps up…two bones….1-upper arm….2-(child of
1) lower arm.
* Assign muscle.axp to the (1)bone (you won't need any other .axp's on bones
anyway)
* In the axp-settings specify strength of bulge/scale (%) and a 'center point'
as center of scale, so if you
put it above the (1) bone, the upper portion of the mesh will be scaled more,
thus creating a
biceps.
* If you somehow multiply the angle between the child and the parent with the
bulge factor you would get
moving muscles !
Hope I made myself clear, I wish I had more of a programmer, then I would do it
myself…..
Keep me informed if you like the idea, if not, i'll gather my little knowledge
and maybe try it (foolishly ?) in keyscript…..

My bulge script analyzes the angle between two bones that have SKIN slices
linked to them. After getting the angle, I scale specific slices by a fraction
of a user specified maximum percentage. Since scaling is about the objects
pivot point, I must then realign the scaled slice back to an original position
for one of the bounding box extents.
The Script Extensions by KUB are IPAS routines that allow you to write programs
in a basic-like language that access 3DS' internal data structures. You may
wish to review some of the Script sxamples in the Scripts section of the
library. 3DS R4 ships with the keyframe script extention.

realized, that I can do that muscle stuff with scaling/moving bones as well
(Yippieeh!)
Though i'm still courious for your script, of course.
(Don't have SKIN, would like to see nearest vertexes scaled <g>.

Well… for the curious, I view the Bulge script as a ~1000 line tutorial which
delves into and exposes dot products, cross products, transformation matrices,
the creation of valid rotation key data and interesting side effects regarding
bounding box data in world coordinates after the creation of scale keys..:-)..
