Rich, you can use one of the outboard TSR utilities like Popdrop or
Mark/Release to do it without much problem, although I haven't had much
luck if it's loaded high. If you have the capability to load high (386/486
with DOS5 and >1MB of RAM) and are just out of UMB space, make sure that
you have scavenged all available UMB space either by using a good memory
manager or by using the under-documented /I switch on EMM386. If you're
not familiar with that and have a system that supports it as above, please
let me know, and I'll walk you thru it.
Popdrop and Mark/Release are available on many BBS's and here on CIS
somewhere, probably Ziff-Net. MSCDEX itself doesn't support removal from
memory.

Thanks for the help… We already tried Mark/Release. It removed
MSCDEX ok but the drive letters were still allocated, so it crashed with a
out of drives error next time it was loaded.
