Eric, there are several incarnations of the new Toshiba CD-ROM drives (including a changer). I have seen the new drives listed in an inventory computer system with the prices, but I'm not really sure which one is which. It didn't have the model numbers listed. I need more info from Toshiba and the distributors first. The prices seem to be "premium" -Eric

Eric— I hope that you will post a message(or send me Email) about the pricing/features(and what distributors carry them) when they are available. Maybe I'll ask Toshiba at COMDEX, but I find that COMDEX is usually the worst place to get answers. Thanks. Eric

My information on the new Toshiba's is that xfer rate is basically doubled while access time remains the same. Prices remain at the upper end… -Bill

Chinon is also introducing double-speed drives at Comdex (the 535), along with 3.5" CD-ROM drives that can read Sony DataDiscMan discs and are ISO 9660 and High Sierra compatible. -Eric
