I've been scouting for an economical SCSI adaptor to go with my NEC CDR-84 drive. Today I found what I was looking for. Microsoft lists nine Future Domain Adaptors that are compatible with their NT CD-ROM and Arrow Electronics has them all for great prices. Details: Adaptor Price Bits Other MCS-600 175 8 microchannel MCS-700 220 8 microchannel TMC-845 66 8 older model being phased out TMC-850 71 8 xt half card TMC-850M(ER) 71 8 newer model – romless TMC-860 71? 8 can use higher IRQ lines TMC-885 142 8 TMC-885M 135 8 newer model TMC-1660 172 16 no floppies – apple pinout connector TMC-1670 ??? 16 A/B floppies TMC-1680 210 16 A/B/C/D floppies, SCSI-2, sync&fast sync TMC-7000EX 525 32 You'll note there are some on the list that are not on the NT list of compatible adaptors. Technical support at Future Domain assured me that ALL are NT compatible. They will all work with the drivers that come with the Oct NT Beta. The table is the result of some rough and ready notes I jotted while talking with FT's tech support (714) 253-0661. The prices I got from Sandy at Arrow Electronics (800) 521-3430. They will sell quantities of 1 to the end user public. Dennis Gallagher Snohomish, Washington, USA
