Are any of the CDROM's capable of displaying CD photos on the computer
screen as advertised by Kodak with its CD photo player which is displayed
on the TV screen.
Also does anyone know where I can purchase a CD which contains legal laws
related to law enforcement such as the New York State Penal law, Vehicle
and Traffic law, Criminal Procedure law, ABC law etc. Any and all responses
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tom

As for photos, there are 100's, if not 1000's, of CDROM titles which
contain photographic images. The only real limitation is the capability of
your computer system to display them. If you are interested in drives that
are currently compatible with Photo-CD, check out the "KODAK-.TXT" file in
Lib #7. There will be many more such drives available soon, after
announcements expected at COMDEX.
Hopefully, someone else will be able answer your other question. You might
also inquire at the LAW Forum.

There is a CD of NY Appellate caselaw out. (that's all that's on
the disk) I can chase it down if you're interested. OTOH, if you're
interested in a real state like New Hampshire, rather than the bush
leagues<g>, we publish all that stuff on a CD.

Believe me after this recent election I have my doubts about
New York. I may be too conservative to live here. Thanks for

If you mean on the disk, we've got the statutes, and the '80s boom
produced some Supreme Court caselaw for the first time since the 1850s.
(Which is going to force us to go back to the year zero—real estate cases
actually cite 19th century decisions here).
If you're asking about buying real estate, the answer is cash will
get you anything, very cheaply, but forget a mortgage, the banks are buying
savings bonds and paying interest to match. (one _might_ write a 50%
mortgage on a piece of property it's foreclosed on.)
