Help! I have a DAK/Sony (external) CDROM. It worked fine in my 386SX, but about 6 months ago I decided to move it over to the 286 in the next room. I've tried and tried, but I cannot get the darn thing to recognize that there is a disk in the player. All the software appears to be correctly installed, and it sequences perfectly except that I get a message to open the carrier and slip in the disk! Calling DAK for help is like calling my mother… they are nice, but they don't seem to have the technical horsepower to solve the problem. Incidentally, the unit is out of the DAK warranty. Any suggestions would be appreciated! —> Mike Langieri/MA <—

SUBJ:DAK/SONY CDROM HELP FROM: BOB FOOTE 71753,3372 TO: MIKE LANGIERI/MA 73360,147 AS YOU PROBABLY KNOW THE DAK CDROMS USE S AS THEIR DISK LETTER. POSSIBLY YOU HAVE NOT MADE LASTDRIVE HIGHER THAN S IN WHICH CASE THE CD DISK WON'T BE FOUND. TO SET THE LASTDRIVE LETTER JUST ENTER IN YOUR CONFIG FILE LASTDRIVE = T. HOPE THIS HELPS. BOB
