Howdy, How are others maximizing RAM with 3DS on systems that also use Windows? I think I need SmartDrv but I also need that 2 MB cache area…I know, I know…more RAM…but that's not practical now. Am I going to need to reboot between 3DS and Windows? Can QEMM help? Thanks in advance. Glenn

Personally, I run different startup configurations for various DOS or Windows applications, and just avoid dealing with these types of problems. I don't mind reboots. It's probably best to disable SmartDrive with 3DS. With 3D rendering, your first priority should be ample RAM. BILL

I've been using QEMM with 3DS since R2. Have had little or no conflicts with memory. Bill's right though about using smartdrive. In systems with limited RAM, it makes sense not to use it when running 3DS. Just take it out of your autoexec.bat and call it from the command prompt when you run Windows. (Don't run Windows without smartdrv-you'll be waiting for days) Jh
