Hello, again! I am trying to run Backtalk, and I am having some difficulties, which are probably largely due to my ignorance about the Amiga. As you may remember, I was looking for a simple terminal program so that I could do null modem xfers of files between an Amiga 2000 and my PC. I installed the program and its library files, and am able to enter the program OK but I get no response on any of the pull down menus or hotkeys. I don't currently have anything hooked to the serial port but that shouldn't interfere with my accessing such simple functions as "about." I did not install the alternate req.library that came with the program, as the docs did not say it was necessary. I know it's hard to diagnose problems like this without seeing the startup sequence, etc., but if you or anyone else can think of a basic (probably stupid) mistake, I might have made in installation, let me know. Thanks.

Ducan, BackTalk requires certain signals from the serial port before it'll "start" so with nothing hooked up…it just sits there. The menus should work though. I'll check it out after I get off. Don

Don-Thanks for your message. Backtalk is up and running like a charm, but I'm glad to know there's someone out there who knows the pgm inside out. The only difficulty I've had so far was in terminal mode xfers between my PC, running ProComm and the Amiga, at 38400. At 19200 everything runs fine but the faster speed seems to be pushing it a bit. Oh, well, it's still a lot faster than sneaker net. Thanks again.

Duncan… I assume you've seen Dons message. He is the best source of support for using BackTalk.
