thank you for your advice. If I use CD Rom for permanent archiving, I wil
have to go through more disks than if I had a rewritable system.
What is the capacity of a writable (once) CD Rom Disk and how much does a
writable disk cost (versus $ 150.00 + for an optic disk).
thank you

A MO 1-gigabyte is around $250 CD-WO media is $25 and holds up to 680 megs.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR INFORMATION. I need a CD Rom for multimedia
applications which are coming out in my field of research , as well as a
megneto-optical system for rewritable archiving (must be able to reprocess
and resave data).
What is the brand/price of the 3 way system ? (the CD Rom must also be WO
to be sompatible with what our programmers have at home (sorry, it is a bit
complex).
When I choose a CD Rom WO RM system ,where should I look to find the best
system in terms of quality and price. Do you know of any good review
article ? May I ask you directly what you recommend ?
thank you very much for your time and patience.

I would only add to Albert's message that the $25-35 price for CD-R discs
is for relatively large quantities. And of course, you have to factor in
the costs of the drives, workstations and software required.
