Has anyone out there got an A500 Plus (or an A500) with a MicroBotics VXL-30 accelerator fitted? I bought one recently but I've been having a problem getting it to work reliably. The problem is one of overheating – after a very short time (say 35 to 40 minutes) use the chips on the board get pretty hot and the Amiga 'freezes' – the pointer disappears or will not respond to mouse movement, and there is no response to the keyboard either. The only solution to this is to switch off and let the machine cool down. Actually I'm now running the Amiga with the top off (to let air get to the accelerator board to cool it during use) and in this way reliability seems assured. So my question is, has anyone else had this problem, and how did you overcome it? I have contacted MicroBotics but their answer didn't really help. While I wait from their _next_ reply can anyone else help? Coming at you from Brighton, England! Mike D.

Mike, I have a VXL, but it's in a 2000, which has a fan. I haven't experienced the problem. Microbotics maintains representation in AmigaVend. You might leave a message there for better response. Bill, K3OZM On AutoPilot
