#Trantor list of devices

Anyone has a list of Trantor MiniSCSI plus supported devices? I'm looking
to a parallel to SCSI device that support the Nikon Slide scanner, the
Polaroid film printer, the Sony SMO magneto optical drive and a NEC CDROM.
is that possible with the Trantor. I'm going to move all that devices from
my main machine to a LTE Lite 25 w. Expansion box, with its two slots
already filled by a Truevision 1024-32 and a Proaudio Spec.16. Since all
the devices are external, I can't use the Proaudio built in SCSI
controller. The Trantor MiniSCSI plus is the only solution (if you have a
better idea, please write me about it) and I want to know if it support all
the devices listed. What SCSI protocol it use?

Unless I miss my guess, Mediavision supplies an external adapter kit for
the PAS-16 that might meet your needs. It brings out the SCSI signals to
the outside of the chassis. You need only specify the specific external
CD-ROM drive that you want to support and they'll provide drivers, cables,
adapter, etc.

All Trantor SCSI products are ASPI compatible. so if you have ASPI
software for your scanner and such, you should be ok.
Trantor ships all their cards with support for CD-ROM drives, hard disks,
removable drives, Flopticals, SyQuest, Bernoulli, Magneto-Optical drives,
etc, as standard.
You can get the same drivers for the MediaVision cards, too. ASPI for
MediaVision PAS-16 should be shipping very soon now from Trantor.
Can you say which Trantor products should be considered for controlling a
Toshiba TXM-3401 and a SyDOS 88i? Would love to have SCSI controller AND 4
floppy controller (Intel 82077 or equivalent) AND 2-16550 serial ports AND
parallel port all in one PWB. Need the slot space in PC.
Are Trantor products supported by Corel SCSI!? I understand Corel SCSI!
only supports ASPI 4, not ASPI 2.
Is there a bulletin board for users to receive updated drivers?
Trying to condense several controllers into one.

That's true! Mediavision supplies an external adapter BUT you will need a
free slot to place it, unless that slot is occupied by a card that doesn't
have external I/O (such as a hard disk controller w/o ports, or a Hardcard
Plus, or a memory card…). Unfortunatelly, the Lite expansion box has only
two slots. My last chance is the Trantor MiniSCSI Plus 🙁

Sorry to hear about the slot requirement. One thing you might consider
<all engineers close your eyes and ignore the following sentence, please>:
If you're desperate, you might just let the SCSI cable sneak out between
slots and let the adapter hang in space outside the chassis. I had a
similar problem in the past, and while it wasn't pretty, the thing worked
great.
If you have no other viable alternatives, you might give it some thought.
I believe the performance you'll get from the mini-SCSI port will be pretty
poor, and will probably obviate using your drive for any serious multimedia
applications.
