I'm about to buy an Amiga A600 for genral use at home and by the Children.
Can anyone say is there a version of CIM for the Amiga and if so does it
support graphics?
There is not a version of CIM for the Amiga, because CompuServe has only
made it available for MSDOS and Macintosh. We do have two automatic CIS
programs, however. For the 600, I think you would want AutoPilot, since
the 600 comes with the 2.x system of the operating system and can use
AutoPilot. You will find the working demo in Library 9 of AmigaVendor.
Download it, get it going, and then register it online. It is really
nice.

There isn't a version of CIM for the Amiga because Compuserve has not
provided the necessary function library (known as HMI) for the Amiga
platform.
Your A600 should have version 2.05 of the operating system, though, so you
should be able to use Autopilot for automated electronic mail, forum
messages, and downloading from forum libraries. In addition, Autopilot,
being an automated access program, will save you money over CIM, which is
used interactively. A functional demo of the program is available in the
Autopilot/Whap! library of the AmigaVendor Forum. Check the required
system configuration before you download it, to make certain that your
A600 will support it.
Autopilot does not support on-line graphics. Normally, graphics are
downloaded and viewed offline to save money on line time.

PS – a hard disk is very desirable for the Amiga. I hope that you're
considering the A600HD.
