Andy, You need a math-co, bro. Do you have a 386 computer ? If so, you can purchase one at your local computer reseller. Verify that you have an available 80C387 socket open on your motherboard. If you have a '486, which has a built-in FPU, you should verify the POST BIOS settings. AMI-bios equiped computers have a 'switch' in the set-up routine to enable/disable your math-co/FPU. Good luck!! Marty

You need a math coprocessor to run 3D Studio. You probably have a 486"sx" (or worse yet, a 386). For the former, you need to get a real 486 (DX). If the 386 is what you have, just get a matching 387 (it should be at least the same clock rate as your 386). Now, if you have a math co and still get that, beats me…

Andy: Assuming you have a 386 and an INTEL mathco-, try opening up the machine, and making sure you're grounded (touch the metal of the machine &/or a water-pipe — we all DO have water pipes next to our machines, don't we?) press down on the math-co with your thumb to make wure it's well-seated — sometimes chips work themselves up and partially out of their sockets because of expansion and contraction due to heating and cooling.
