>Most of here are not NTSC fans either <G> but its what we have >to work with for the time being 🙂 So what type of work are you doing in >Sweden? Do you have many 3DS users? Just curious. -JE I'm working as a 3DS dealer in south Sweden. I'm also a IPAS developer that will start to sell my first package real soon. I made it for own use at first. The way they turned out made me consider making them a product ! The company also makes animations for broadcast and PC demonstations, this is the only way to be able to give "real" support to our 3DS customers. The only way to learn a program is to use it on real projects. (-: Their are not many user's in Scandinavia yet, but I'm shore there will be when they discover it ! What are you doing, "Over there !" ? Ps NTSC, Never The Same Color ! (-: Ds

Martin – My animation work is similar to yours, Broadcast and Corporate presentations. But I also help setup up systems and consulting etc. Tell me Martin why is that Europeans are always so gleeful about NTSC being Never The Same Color? <G> PAL isn't so superior in this respect, just in the number of lines of resolution which is better no doubt. But you also are only pushing 25 frames a second instead of 30, which makes smooth motion tougher <G>. Actually, quite a few animators are now working in the 756×480 realm as well as 720×486, so the animations have the resolution even though the final output goes to Not The Same Continent. Actually, I'm looking forward to the day when all countries are on the same standard 1024×786 or something like it 🙂 Maybe in the next century ;-/ Regards -JE

Your right about PAL not beaing superior to NTSC, it has it's loss in speed, that's why fieldrendering is more importent for us then for you. I have just started making FBF animations to Betacam SP so I have left FLC format behind me. I have been working full time sololy and only with 3DS 1-2-3 since 1990, and start to get some payoff, I get food every day <g>. I have a lot to do with my new IPAS routines and R3. They will be released soon ! A thought : For me it all started with 2D CAD, then 3D CAD, 3D realistic pictures and then 3D Animations. What will the next step be ? Cyberspace ?!<g>

Martin – >> I have just started making FBF animations to Betacam SP << Sound like congratulations are in order! And its always a good sign when there's food on the table <G>. Seriously sounds like you're doing quite well and you started with 2D CAD up through R3. That't neat. I came into this from the television side. I started working with a character generator and then a paint-box and then an ADO 1000 which has key-framing, played around with 3 channel cubes and it was a logical progression to 3D animation. >>What will the next step be? << Good question, lets ask Gary when he gets back <G> Next Generation? You put on a helmet and what you visualize appears on the screen <G> Wouldn't that be nice! -JE PS I'm very interested in your IPAS. Can you tell us anything about them? Are you doing your own distribution?

I have sent over a couple of demo packages to companies that want's to distribute my programs in US, that's why there aint no discription of them uploaded here yet. I wan't to include where to by them in the file <g> ! regards, Martin

Martin E. – Sure tantalize us, but give us no detail! Good marketing strategy 🙂 Reminds me of a movie promo – "The Thing coming to a Theatre near you". Goes on for weeks before you find out what "the thing" is. Just kidding eh! Well good luck and shop around. -JE P.S. Yes, I still work with Broadcast but its mostly animation.

>>- Sure tantalize us, but give us no detail! Good marketing strategy I noticed lot's of intress in my routines, and even people "talking" about them, without even knowing what they do yet! That's quite nice ! (-: You are still doing animations for broadcast. Is that mostly intros and logos ? Or what !? regards, Martin Ps If you have some wiches for new IPAS-routines, I'm all ears, or eyes ! (-: Ds

Martin >>Ps If you have some wiches for new IPAS-routines, I'm all ears…<< Yes, we have a few witches but we put them in an IPAS and sent them to Animation Hell! <G> It's called the 3DS Witch IPAS and hunts down problems in 3DS caused by witches and eliminates them. You put it in your last line in Video Post, works pretty well. Seriously, I do have a few wishes, suggestions, one of which is a good particle system for clouds. The smoke IPAS can do double duty as clouds but I'd like to be able to create swirling vortex's as well with nice wispy clouds. An IPAS that could create time-lapse clouds would be awesome! (I don't ask for much! <g>) Another area which hasn't really been addressed much is procedural materials, and procedural shaders like metal and chrome. And of course if you'd like to create a Witch IPAS that's superior to the one we've been using, I'm sure alot of people would be interested. <G> -JE P.S. which compiler are you using for IPAS and which type are you mostly developing?
