A2386 won't print!

I'm still having a problem getting any printed output from my A2386sx-25 and would really appreciate some help. I'm using an A2000HD with a generic IDE multi-i/o card (VGA separate) and an HP DJ500C. I'm running Janus 2.1. I've tried using LPT1 and LPT1X on the Amiga side, and failing that, have switched cables to the IBM i/o card, setting it's switches for LPT1 and then LPT2. Seeing potential i/o port conflicts with the BB, I changed the i/o card to LPT3. Each time, I set Windows Printer Setup to the correct configuration, and get no output. The HP print driver seems to hang, although the most recent attempt to use LPT3 had the clock spinning, as Windows sent the file to Print Manager, which then reported the printer failed. Typing DIR > LPT1: hangs and eventually returns to allow "Abort? Retry? Fail?". The HP is printing fine from the Amiga side, and I'm trying to use the same cable when switching it from one side to the other. Can anyone help? I'm running out of ideas! 🙁 *** jd
