DynaCADD is a fine program. It is very useful for 2d drafting, however
when working in 3d and using very large files it performs at a
ssnnaa- iillss pace compared to GFX-CAD! An object that takes maybe 8
seconds to redraw in GFX-CAD will take over a minute in DynaCADD! I
have done extensive testing of speeds between the 2 programs.
I use the GFX-CAD Laserjet driver to output raster plots to my
Paintjet. Paintjet can output LJet data but only in B&W. I use the
PD device PLT: to output HPGL to the PaintJet in 8 colors or 16
colors(3d), again this is raster plotting at the printers highest
res. It looks very good even at 180 DPI so ypur LJet at 300DPI or
more would look fantastic!
What is an R/C model?
Does AKL NZ mean Aukland, New Zeland? If so, there is a very fine
GFX-CAD Architect named John Davidson in NZ!

PMJI, I am doing 2D graphics in ProDraw for furniture assembly
instructions and I am wondering if a 3D CAD program might be better.
I don't need detail, nor even great accuracy, just the ability to
quickly recreate a representation of the furniture. With PD I have
to draw each peice and guessimate the perspective. Then I import the
graphic into a DTP program for layout. Would something like GFX-CAD
be over kill or would it make the job go faster.

Unfortunatly I guess I will have to stick with my purchase (NZD 1200 by
the time I got it through HM Customs here). With luck I wont be making
large 3D objects, as I want to use it for designing model aircraft which
is were the "R/C model" came in.
"raster plots" ????. ……I will use AP to find the file for the PD
programme/Device "PLT:" in the Amiga forums, so that I can if possible
output HPGL to my Paintjet. Then I can finally start to use the Dyna-CADD
programme. Hope that this will work for me.
Yes I am in Auckland New Zealand, I will try and get in touch with John
Davidson, through the " Architects Association ". Will let you know about
any further progress.
One thing in particular that I want to learn to do is generating Aerofoils
from the std coordinates that are available fro various airfoils, I read
an article recently were the author used either B-Splines or Bezier curves
and modified them by typing in the coordinates. Any ideas??
