Vortex 386/Amiga mem
6 messages in this thread
I am using a Golden Gate 386 board (since yesterday). It's in a A3000 with 6 mb
memory running WB 2.04. Everything seems to work as described, except one
thing. I can't get it to use Amiga memory as Extended Memory. Does anybody know
about this?

Michael: I had the same problem with my 4000 and the Golden Gate.
It's looking for 16-bit expansion ram, and we have 32-bit RAM
standard in our Amiga's. So the only way to use the Amiga's memory as
extended Memory is to buy a 16-bit RAM board, or use Chip memory. I
do have some 16-bit RAM on a 2091 board, but I would get GPI crashes
when running Windows, so I don't use it. About the best way to expand
the memory of the Golden Gate is just to buy some more SIMM's.
Hi, Is it possible to use Amiga Memory as extended Memory with the A2386 BB?
Thanks Trev
Trev: There is a utility here in LIB 12 of AmigaUser called
AMIEMS.LZH. It's suppose to let you use part of your Amiga memory as
Bridgeboard memory, but I've never tried it so don't know if it
actually works.
