Does anyone know of a program that can take a 3D object in .3DS, .DXF, or .ASC format and produce 2D cross-sections of it at various planes. I read that the skin IPAS will slice models into planes, and while this could be a difficult way to do what I want I'm not going to pay $300 for it. I could write it myself but was hoping someone has already written a similar program. I need the ability to set increment amounts and then to step through slices with arrow keys or the mouse and display the slice outlines fullscreen. Ever heard of a program like this? ————–Will

There's a fantastic IPAS routine that will let you do this called scalpel. I think there's a demo of it up in the DL's here, and I'm sure that one of the other members (Bill?) can point you towards the creator. – G

Sorry. BILL

I've downloaded the demo of scalpal before but it cut objects in half if I was right. I need something that is just a 2D outline. I've written a program since though, it was easier than I thought. Thanks Bill and -G ————Will
