Am narrowing the problem down and it now appears as if it may be in the Vibrant
driver. If I select VESA for the display source in Material's Editor and use my
IBM SVGAVESA driver the mouse problem goes away, but the Palette is wrong ( I
have never understood why Autodesk products do NOT work in SVGA mode using the
IBM SVGA VESA driver — have the same palette problem with ANI PRO).
Consequently since the mouse droppings problem only occurs with the VIBRANT
driver and happens even with a boot disk I must assume that it is a Vibrant
problem.
If anybody else has any better ideas I would sure like to hear them.
Thanks
Judy
I have found that not all VESA drivers/BIOS are created equal. I use
the VESA drivers supplied with my card (Matrox MGA), and they work
fine. I have run into flaky VESA on some of my other cards, though.
