As per my previous email about the expansion of the Learning Resource Series team here at the Autodesk Learning Systems Group (LSG) I am also delighted to tell you about some other recent additions to our extremely rich "virtual pool" of talent and resources: NEW FACES IN THE LEARNING SYSTEMS GROUP ========================================= We are extremely pleased to be welcoming several new people into the ever busy Learning Systems Group and wanted to introduce you to them. BRIANA PIERCE has joined us as the LSG Programs Coordinator. Briana is somewhat of an Autodesk "veteran" having worked here for over 7 years in such departments as Sales and Applications Engineering. In her new role with LSG Briana will be the primary point of contact for Instructor Development activities such as Program Partner Training (PPT) and Teacher Training. Briana brings with her a wealth of technical and organizational skills that will surely be put to excellent use in the busy world of LSG. Briana can be reached at extension 8250. As noted in the accompanying article, the success of the Learning Resource Series has brought with it a rapid growth that looks to continue for some time to come to meet the demand for material based on new software products such as ADE, AutoCAD LT, AutoVision and AutoSurf. Kirsten Rasmussen, who has been working with us for some time now from her home in Minnesota, has moved back to California and is now taking on full time responsibilities as LRS Operations Manager wherein she is responsible for the myriad of details and logistics involved in pulling together all the people, departments, and pieces that go into designing, developing, producing and distributing LRS products. This is truly a "virtual" work group as it involves not only many diverse departments within Autodesk, but also many external people and companies. To help deal with the technical editing and coordinate beta testing of material currently in production and future projects, Phil Dollan has recently joined Kirsten on this LRS team as the LRS Technical Editor. Phil works with us part time from his office outside Vancouver, British Columbia where he is also the part of the CAD/CAM Department at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Phil is taking on those duties in addition to his role as Chair of the ETS group. In a weak moment during AutoDesk University he let it slip that he had a few spare hours each week. and he didn't know what to do with them!. I offered Phil a solution to that "problem" and he has agreed to take on the role of Learning Resource Series Technical Editor. The primary responsibilities will be to oversee the technical integrity and quality of the Learning Resource Series product being developed and to collaborate with the authors and the materials they have produced. Effectively, Phil's role is to work with Kirsten and provide technical support for the materials. Finally, in recognition of the growing and critical role that marketing plays in determining the success of everything we do, we are pleased to have Cindy Morey join us as LSG Marketing Projects Manager. Cindy has been working with us for the past several months as a consultant to promote LSG services. She has a background in product marketing and has developed marketing workshops to teach businesses how to develop marketing plans to promote their products and services. She will be responsible for creating Marketing Roll Out Plans for all of the LSG products and programs and managing marketing efforts within LSG to meet our objectives. Phil, Briana and Kirsten are or soon will be, online here on CIS so you can say HI to them yourself. Similarly you can also reach anyone at Autodesk via their email by sending the messages with addressed like: "wayneh@autodesk.com" Please join me in welcoming all these great new people to LSG. You all know my "rocket" story so you can appreciate the amount of "rocket fuel" this adds to our LSG rocket! Hang on folks! I promised you the ride of your life, and I fully intend to keep on delivering!! <g> ww
