Bill, A good DTV dealer should be able to demonstrate a number of good DTV options including Video Director. Additionally, there are now a number of DTV orientated magazines including Video Pro, New Media, Digital Video, Video Maker, etc. that should be available at most newstands. Bill: >where can i get consumer data on the gold disk product"video director"?< Just out of curiosity–you are aware the "Video Director" is pretty much a consumer-level product, aren't you? It uses a serial port hookup to your computer to plug into your playback deck's LANC input (providing your playback deck *uses* LANC protocol) and uses infrared remote to control your record deck. Its accuracy, while not bad, isn't exactly frame-accurate. Also, it doesn't do A/B rolling–at all. Period. I'm not saying this to be snide (I write for a consumer video magazine, after all), but it sounds like you're looking for something a bit more accurate than +/- 6 frames (at best) for your cuts. You might also try FutureVideo's "V-Station Editor", which turns out a pretty impressive, and to my rememberance, upgradeable to A/B rolling edit card for around $1,000, or Videomedia's "Oz" series.
