#Mail order audio equip.

I have several catalogs in front of me from mail order companies for music and
audio equipment. Just wondering if anyone has used these companies before.
Any comments good or bad are appreciated as are any suggestions of other
companies.

I worked with Manny's in the past in a professional capacity and they are
honest and reliable. Thoroughbred has a great reputation in that biz and should
be a good bet as well. I've seen catalogs from the others as well, but have no
direct experience with them. Depending on where you live, there may be a Sam
Ash music nearby and they always have great deals.

Thanks for the information re: Manny's and Thoroughbred. I'm in Seattle and
Sam Ash is not a local change. At one point I had a great relationship with a
sales rep at a local dealer who took the long view that I would be buying a
great deal of equipment over time- he always gave me good deals whether I
bought one piece or several. (He knew I was putting together a multimedia
studio piecemeal and wanted me to always come to him.) He was transferred to
another city and now the rep at the store I go to basically only gives me
standard prices (I have no history with him). So mail order is sounding better
all the time- I've got a tight budget for 1995. I've gotten used to mail order
through video equipment purchases anyway. Thanks for your input and help.
