I have tested, just yesterday, the 3401 with an adaptec 1540 using two
different aspi manager versions, two different DMA transfer speeds, two
different versions of our software, and sync and async mode…….I have had no
problems. I have not heard of any sync problems. I would suggest checking
cabling and termaintion. If you are using the 1540 C check the rear side of
the board near the top edge. If the card is REV A,B,C and there are no
physical modifications on the board I would contact Adaptec and tell them of
this. If the board is a REV C (with a modification) or REV D board then the
card should be fine. Check cabling and run ADAPTEC DMA test for you system.
