#CorelSCSI 2.0
8 messages in this thread
Hmmm…. INFOWORD has a large full page ad for CorelSCSI 2.0 which includes
support for scanners and such heretofore only in Pro at a price of $129. Seems
that even if the ad has jumped the Comdex announcement gun we ought to get some
information on this and upgrade pricing, yes?
Ah Jack, right on top of things as usual !! <grin>. Here is the info for all
those enquiring minds.
Users with SCSI version 1.0 – 1.2b can upgrade to 2.0 for $79 U.S. $89 Can. +
shipping.
Users with SCSI PRO can upgrade to Network manager for $249 U.S. $269 Can. +
shipping
CD Power PAk! will retail for $99 U.S. $119 Can. + shipping.
I hope that this helps everyone.

Pretty high upgrade price, Lazlo, considering what street price usually is.
CD Power PAK?
Bryan,
The upgrade price seems way out of line for a product which can be purchased
new for $65 at a number of places.
I would expect a substantial number of impressive items in the upgrade to
justify this high cost which would seem to intrude on your SCSI PRO package.
I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt so maybe you can tell us the
justification of the high upgrade price. I hate to feel that Corel is
hiting its customers up to pay for all the bug fixes given out for Corel Draw!

Ah, but CorelSCSI 2.0 isn't $99 retail, it's $129 retail, so expect the
street and mail order price on it to be $95. CorelSCSI 1.2 is $75 street. Not
much of an upgrade savings, but $16 can buy a couple of very good pizzas with
beer.
Is Corel cutting any slack on the upgrade for those that have bought recently?
If so, what's the date(s) and price(s).
Terry.
The latest is that CorelSCSI Pro's been made universal with the network
stuff removed to a Network Edition, so 2.0 is imminent (end of the month) and
will support all the non-network devices now supported by Pro. Upgrade price
will be $79, a lot more reasonable than the $199 they wanted for Pro.
Current (until they come back from Vegas, anyway) version is 1.2b. As with
all Corel whole number products, you check MASTER.TXT here in LIB3 and if the
new version supports something yours doesn't, you can get it free by asking in
Customer Service, Section 4 here. The current is 1.2b.
Terry,
Our Customer Service area here on Compuserve would be better suited to answer
those questions for you. I can tell you that there are some update guidelines.
