What type of System? What Make/Model of SCSI controller (Adaptec, etc…) How old are the Micropolis drives ? (Rom Version/Date) I have had problems in the recent past with new Micropolis drives in that they did not have current bios nor was the ASPI software up to date. I contacted Micropolis and downloaded new drivers and a program to download new code to my drives. I had been attempting to duplex drives and had similar luck as you have encountered. If you need help over the weekend, I can be reached @ (800) 228-3336. They will have to xfer you to my home number or have me paged. Good Luck….. Anthony..

Geoffrey, Their have been NO fixes, patches or updates to this software. It has proved to be quite solid. I would look at is memory. Do you have enough to mount a volume that is (6 x 1.4 GB)? This is the standard RAM calculation that you would used if it were a standard one disk volume. The second thing that you want to look at is the controller that you are using. If you are using a 16 bit BUS mastering, DMA using controller, then you are limited to 16 MB of RAM. It may be that there is not enough reserved buffers below 16 MB. Try increasing this option in the STARTUP.NCF with the set reserve buffers below 16 MEG command. I hope this helps Laszlo

I've got 2 questions 1 – I'm using Corel Raid with 2 X 1.05 gig Micropolis Disks and 1-1.34 gig. Micropolis disk. My controler is an Adaptech 1540. I made a small program that creates 32K files named 1,2,3,4,5 … When I try it without Corel Raid, the % of utilization of my server is around 15. With Corel Raid, it is around 85 %. I tried to increase the buffers under 16 Megs to 64 and I've seen no change. 2- Is it possible to add a disk to the Array without backing up all the system and restore after. If not, will it be possible in future version. Thanks to you Pascal Longpre

Pascal, Like any other Netware volume, you cannot simply add a drive to it and span the volume across the new drive without backing up the entire volume. I hope this helps. Laszlo
