1. The Corel SCSI manual says not to use a disc cache with the SCSI Back up
program. Can I not use PCKWIK? I have a Conner Viper 550 Meg tape drive with
a BusLogic VESA bus controller. I run a Diamond MB with a clock doubler at 76
Mhz.
2. I run a BU and then do a Verify. I get no error messages but a few "Busy"
prompts. I then run more Verifies and on the third Verify I get multiple error
prompts. What does this mean? Should I be getting "Busy" prompts? Why would
I Verify two times with no errors other than a few "Busy" prompts and then, on
the third Verify get multiple unmatching files as errors messages?
3. I cannot do an incremental BU. Will future releases of the SCSI BU have an
incremental capability?

I do not know what version of the tape software that you are using.
Termination could play a very large role in the way data is compared.
Termination could cause data corruption thus your varying success at verifying.
This could be caused even by increased noise being injected into the SCSI
controller based on the higher clock speeds.
If you are using a version of our software prior to CorelSCSI version 1.2b then
I would update. We have had a new release of software just today, it is
CorelSCSI version 2.0. You would be able to upgrade to this, but it would not
be a free upgrade. The fee of course would be nominal. I would post a message
in our customer service area here on Compuserve.
p.s. If CorelSCSI is still available, you will be able to upgrade free of
charge plus shipping.

Thanks, I will order Ver2 of the SW. Regarding termination. I have terminated
the last device in the chain, does that mean that termination is not a problem?

Hopefully you've also terminated the first device in the chain and insured
that there are no terminators in between (remember, if running external
devices, the card, too, is a SCSI device and has terminators).
The other thing to insure is that no device on the chain has the same ID
number as any other device on the same chain.
