#COREL CD-ROM Drive

Hi. I've been using a Corel CD-ROM drive (with its Corel SCSI controller) in a
Microchannel PC for a while… works fine. I need to use this same drive on an
AT bus machine with an HP SCSI controller for a while. How can I obtain a
CD-ROM driver that is not looking for the Corel SCSI card? (The CD-ROM Drive
is the Toshiba TXM3301.)

The HP SCSI controller should have come with its own driver. If it didn't,
you can't use it for the CD ROM. I know of no general HP SCSI cards with ASPI
managers; all of them are designed to drive specific HP devices.

You probably have a driver from the CorelDRIVER! generation. This generation
had to interface directly with the controller. Sample drivers were
CUNI_LS2.SYS, CUNI_FDC.SYS etc.
Now, the driver is hardware independant (CUNI_ASP.SYS). Where above you had a
the CD ROM universal driver for the LS200 and Future Domain you now have an
ASPI compliant driver that can pretty much use any controller that uses and
ASPI interface. So….if your HP controller has an ASPI interface there is a
good chance that it will work although I do not believe that they spend time
developing an interface for their controllers when their business is scanners!

Library. It is a list of certified devices and controllers.

Corel SELLS SCSI drivers; they don't give them away.
